Un ordenador, un teléfono o un tablet son aparatos de los que el usuario espera sacar un partido para llegar a un fin, el que sea. Si yo me compro algo, espero de el que cubra mis necesidades y mis expectativas y NUNCA me plantearé modificarlo por mi cuenta para obtener una funcionalidad que inicialmente el fabricante no ha previsto. Porque no tengo los conocimientos ni el tiempo para hacerlo. Si un producto lo tengo que adecuar yo a mis necesidades después de pagar un dinero por el… mal empezamos. Será el aparato el que ya tenga que venir preparado para cubrir mis necesidades. Yo no compro una nevera con dos puertas, si quiero una de cuatro, y mucho menos me planteo hacer yo por mi cuenta la implementación “a mi medida” Si no soy programador ni me importa qué demonios es el Linux o lo que corra por debajo de mi router, mi único problema es el mismo que el del 99% de la gente: QUE FUNCIONE Y PUNTO. Todo lo demás son las manías que tenéis los friáis linuxeros y opensourceros de “tocar” cualquier cosa que os pongan en la mano porque en realidad no os gusta como lo ha hecho el “fabricante” y tenéis la vanidosa necesidad de darle vuestro toque personal, porque en realidad no compráis aquello que os vale para el fin que perseguís, de lo contrario no tendríais ninguna necesidad de modificarlo.

After downloading scratchbox and the maemo sdk, I tried compiling/building tn5250, and moved the deb to my tablet. After installing, it still gave the same error message. As I was installing my deb, I noticed that it mentioned needing ncurses, so I used ‘apt-get install ncurses’. After doing so, tn5250 works like a charm! Anyway, just wanted to pass that on if anyone is interested.
